Programs & Events

Our professional Environmental Educators are available for questions from the community and offer a wide variety of programming to over 1100 groups of area families, adults, and children each year. With their boundless curiosity, they touch, observe and listen to the natural world.

Our programs are designed for all ages and are available daily throughout the year. Programs are designed for groups that range in size, but space is limited and reservations are required.

For Individual Children, Families and Adults (less than 10 people)

Seasonal Programs for

Seasonally based environmental programs for families, adults and children.

Forest School

Children ages 3.5 to 5 can spend the morning or afternoon exploring the forest, developing their confidence, and laying the foundation for a lifelong appreciation of nature.

Campers
(School Break & Summer)

Seasonally based day camp programs offered for children ages 4-18.

Special Events
(Dinner, Trail Races, Nature Day)

Community and recreational events held to support the Tenafly Nature Center.

Home School & School Enrichment

Non traditional education opportunities at Tenafly Nature Center during the school year for students in Kindergarten through 12th grade.

Schools, Teachers,
& Summer Programs

Virtual, Field trips, TNC to Go (outreach) programs, and After School enrichment for students of all ages that are designed to reinforce school or summer program curricula, and instill an appreciation of the wonders of the natural world.

Scouts
(Scouts BSA & Girl Scouts)

Earn a badge or patch, or participate in one of our seasonal environmental programs designed for Boy or Girl Scouts. Programs range from campfires and night hikes to compass work.

Birthday Parents

Come be a party animal! Surrounded by the sights and sounds of our 380 acres, children enjoy an exciting and educational birthday, where learning is natural!
