Driving Directions

Apple Maps Users: Enter the above address into your GPS application to arrive at the correct parking lot entrance.


  1. Take the Grand Avenue/Englewood Exit, follow signs for county road 501 North.
  2. Pass the Englewood Hospital. Grand Avenue becomes Engle Street; do not turn at E. Hudson Ave. This is still in Englewood.
  3. Go through two traffic lights and stay on Engle Street until it ends at a "T"
    (about 4 miles from Rt. 4).
  4. Turn right onto Hudson Avenue.
  5. Go to the top of the hill and enter the driveway to the Tenafly Nature Center parking area.

  1. From I-80 East take Route I-95 North (New Jersey Turnpike) toward the George Washington Bridge, using local lanes.
  2. Take EXIT 71, signed for Broad Avenue, Englewood/Leonia. If you miss EXIT 71, continue as described from 9W South.
  3. From the exit ramp, keep right at the fork, follow signs for Englewood and merge onto Broad Avenue.
  4. Turn left at the 2nd traffic light onto Van Nostrand Avenue.
  5. Turn right at the next traffic light onto Grand Avenue.
  6. Proceed North following signs for county road 501 North and continue as described above (from Route 4).

  1. From Route 9W (Sylvan Avenue), turn left at the traffic light for East Clinton Avenue/Tenafly.
  2. Go about 1 mile, and turn right at the next traffic light, which is Engle Street. 
  3. Proceed on Engle Street until it ends at a "T"
  4. Turn right onto Hudson Avenue.
  5. Go to the top of the hill and enter the driveway to the Tenafly Nature Center parking area.

  1. Go over George Washington Bridge to Palisades Parkway North.
  2. Get off at Exit 1, Englewood Cliffs & Palisades Avenue.
  3. Make right and go to 1st light. At light make a right onto Route 9W North.
  4. Proceed North and continue as described above (from 9W North).

  1. From New York State Thruway (I-87/287), take Exit 13S for the southbound Palisades Interstate Parkway
  2. Follow the Palisades Interstate Parkway South 
  3. Get off at Exit 2 and make left onto Route 9W South.
  4. At 3rd light make right onto East Clinton Avenue/Tenafly.
  5. Proceed North and continue as described above (from 9W North).

Arrive by Public Transportation

There are no NJ Transit buses that operate within walking distance to the Hudson Ave entrance.

Rockland Coaches bus routes 9, 9A, 9T, and 9TA stop along Route 9W and provide access to many of our trails. These buses can be reached from New York City, Rockland County and points in New Jersey.
